How to become an Approved Supplier

All procurement for the Communisis Group is orchestrated centrally through Communisis Sourcing. Based in Leeds, we co-ordinate purchasing strategy as well as actively managing our supplier base to ensure we secure maximum value in all our commercial dealings. Our supplier approval process goes through 5 steps:

Step 5: Relationships

The Supplier Relationship Management Team (SRM) actively manage and support our supply base.  This team is independent from the operational buyers who are the day to day contact point for suppliers. Supplier performance data is provided from our buyers ensuring that comprehensive analysis is undertaken and 360 degree feedback is facilitated.  This analysis provides the ability to instigate continual improvements in our supply chain.

The SRM team assist suppliers through our 5 step supplier adoption process.  They carry out initial on-site evaluations and follow this up with regular site visits.

The objective is to build long term partnerships with suppliers who prove they are capable of meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations.  Suppliers who demonstrate they are capable of meeting the high levels of performance we set can look forward to a mutually beneficial trading relationship.

In order to attain preferred supplier status all 5 stages of the process must be successfully completed.  There is still no absolute guarantee of work as suppliers compete for each job via the Communisis IQ system

SRM also act as a focal point for Supplier Cost down projects, Environmental performance improvement initiatives and also ensuring suppliers adopt the relevant Colour Management standards
